Event Details
Join Shannon Mathis of Life in Motion Gym for a chair based class that introduces the principles of pilates and yoga while remaining mostly seated. This is a low impact class where the focus is on core stability, balance, flexibility, breathing and strength. There will be some standing poses done at the chair at the end of the class for balance, but these can be modified as needed. The 4-week series is $15.00.
Shannon Mathis, PT, DPT is a certified pilates instructor as well as a physical therapist. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science degree from Gannon University in Sports and Exercise Science and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Duke University. Her focus is on keeping everyone, no matter age or ability, at a level of activity that maintains health and independence. She teaches group classes at her physical therapy wellness gym (Life in Motion) in Fox Chapel and also enjoys teaching undergraduate students at LaRoche University.
