Program Description

Event Details

This twice-monthly workshop focuses on nourishing and sustaining your creative practice. No experience writing or workshopping poetry? No problem! We'll spend some time writing together in response to prompts chosen to help you amplify your voice. Expect to receive and share meaningful, positive feedback as we affirm what is strong and powerful in our writing. We’ll also explore some yummy published poetry! Bbring a poem on paper (we can make copies here at the library) no longer than 1 page if you'd like to workshop. We'll get to as many as we can at each meeting.

Kelley Beeson holds a Master of Fine Art in Poetry from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Library and Information Science from The University of Pittsburgh. She is the recipient of the 2023 Lefty Blondie Press First Chapbook Award. Her work appears in Kaliope, Pittsburgh City Paper, and The Pittsburgh Poetry Exchange and is a Pushcart Prize nominee. She writes as a mad-proud member of the Madwomen in the Attic Writing Workshops since 1992.
