Join Historian John Connolly for Warriors of the Lakota: Journeys of Friendship, Renewal and Cultural Understanding a presentation that will help you understand the history of the Lakota Nation.
John Connolly has worked as an educator at Fort Pitt Historical Museum for 30 years in a variety of capacities. He is an expert (and appraiser) of Plains Indian artifacts & material culture and has made over 50 trips to the Pine Ridge Lakota (Oglala Sioux) Reservation in South Dakota developing friendships, working on a variety of projects. He is now putting together a book that tells the larger story of a Pittsburgh connection to the Lakota people that spans over 120 years, starting with a visit by Buffalo Bill's Show in Pittaburgh in 1896.
