A Reintroduction to Oneself: Paintings by Leah Kass

After struggling to cope with chronic health problems that prevented her from continuing her original career, Leah Kass was encouraged to re-explore being an artist. In recent years, painting has become a means to communicate with the deepest parts of herself, the ones that feel most unheard. Her solo exhibit A Reintroduction to Oneself is a reflection of that. As well as how painting has become a place to play and explore new techniques, a way to challenge the need to avoid something overwhelming, and most importantly, about challenging internalized messages about perfection. Finally, this collection is an extension of her first anniversary gift to her husband; in which all of her work is dedicated to him and their family. 

A Reintroduction to Oneself: Paintings by Leah Kass will be on view daily through 10/4.
