Music of the Chinese Lute

Join local middle schooler, Rebecca Dorneich, for an afternoon of music and history. Rebecca has been learning to play the Chinese lute (Pi Pa) for 3 and a half years. We are thrilled to have her talk about this ancient and unique instrument. Two local college students, Yi Xiao and Yao Xiao, will play the Chinese lute as part of this program. This event is appropriate for ages 5 and up - teens and adults are welcome. Rebecca will share the history of the Chinese lute, introduce the instrument, and then Yi and Yao will play 3-4 pieces of music. The music will be a mix of traditional Chinese and contemporary music.
