Event Details
Explore the diverse habitats found across the Fox Chapel Park system, from forests and streams to the unique vernal pools of Salamander Park. This classroom program highlights how local parks serve as valuable community resources while also providing critical habitat for wildlife.
Participants will learn why respecting park rules helps protect ecosystem health, then discover the variety of wildlife that lives in these parks. We will spend some time discussing local salamander diversity, especially the spotted salamanders that breed in Salamander Park.
This program is designed for animal and nature lovers ages 10 and up.
Presented by Nick Stahlman, Community Conservation Coordinator, for the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania.
