Program Description

Event Details

Celebrate Ulysses S. Grant with an engaging afternoon with Kenneth Serfass, an acclaimed US Grant impressionist. You'll learn more about what made Grant the most successful general in our history and a man who was admired more than Abraham Lincoln in his time. You'll come to appreciate him as a man of the people and how that propelled him into the White House. Popular myths have distorted the truth about US Grant and this conversation will give you a better understanding of who Grant really was by bringing him to life!

This program is sponsored by the Fox Chapel Area Rotary!

Gunnery Sgt Kenneth J. Serfass is a native of Bethlehem, PA. A US Marine since 1984, he retired in 2004 to become a music teacher. Ken is a former civil war “reenactor” but now a first-person impressionist with fifty years studying his childhood hero, US Grant. As a full-time professional living historian portraying Grant, he has engaged on horseback tours, rail road excursions, presenting school programs, living history and roundtable events, speaking at public libraries on a regular basis, and annually in Southern California at Huntington Beach’s Civil War Days. He has performed for museums and business groups seeking leadership training and inspiration. His passion for history is evident and you will be excited by his enthusiasm and believe that you’ve really met US Grant! Find more about him on his website.
