Program Description

Event Details

She was born in Bruchsal, Germany. He was born in Vienna, Austria. As hidden children, their paths crossed briefly in a French orphanage. This is just a part of their story, separately and together: surviving the Holocaust, fighting Nazis in the French Resistance, and making a new life in America.

This is the true story of Kurt and Edith Leuchter, as told by their daughter Deborah Stueber.

Debbie has been volunteering with the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh for 25 years. Telling her parents’ Holocaust experience to schools, universities, and various organizations for the last several years has been her passion. She feels strongly that it is the responsibility of her generation and generations to come to carry on the survivors’ legacy.

This program is appropriate for teens 13+ to adult.

Parking at the library is limited. If the library lot is full, we recommend parking at the 13th Street municipal lot. We are also conveniently located on the 91 and 1 bus routes.
