Event Details
Join us after-hours at the library for light hors d'oeuvres, wine, and a preview of the handcrafted furniture we are auctioning.
In August 2022, a beautiful large walnut tree came down to make way for much needed parking at Cooper-Siegel Community Library. The wood was far too gorgeous to waste, so the decision was made to preserve and extend the life of the tree in new forms, to allow it to continue its story, by creating stunning, handcrafted furniture.
Community Library Association Facilities Advisory Board Chair, James Mitnick, reached out to Satara Rustics and artist Burton C. Duerring, who used the natural flow and shapes in the wood to create six beautiful pieces of furniture. These pieces are one-of-a-kind and are destined to become family heirlooms!
