Program Description

Event Details

Join Linda Schifino, local author of Neighborhood Girl, for a discussion of growing up in a 1950s Italian American enclave. Small apartments over grocery stores, Saints Day festivals, brass bands, and the guys on the stoop created a neighborhood where generations of families nurtured their close-knit community and cultural traditions.

Linda Schifino is the author of Neighborhood Girl (Brown Posy Press, 2023). She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Carlow University, where she is Professor Emerita. Linda has had essays published in several literary journals. You can learn more about Linda at lindaschifino.com

Library parking is limited. If the library lot is full, we recommend parking at the 13th Street municipal lot. We're also conveniently located on the 91 and 1 bus routes.
