Event Details
This is a chance to meet some feathered friends and learn more about how they survive in the wild! We are excited to bring Pittsburgh's own The National Aviary to our outdoor courtyard for Amazing Adaptations.
Birds are equipped with traits that help them survive in their natural habitats. Students discover what these unique characteristics are and explore amazing feet, feathers, and beaks.
The National Aviary is America’s only independent indoor nonprofit zoo dedicated to birds. Located in Allegheny Commons Park on Pittsburgh’s historic Northside, the National Aviary is home to more than 500 birds representing more than 150 species from around the world, many of them threatened or endangered in the wild.
This program is for middle and high school students who will be in grades 6-12 in the fall.
