Curious? Always learning? Love hearing human stories? The new Memory (Memoir + History) Book Club is for you!

Join us as we delve into the broad and weird world of nonfiction through selected memoirs and historical books. Every 3rd Wednesday* from 6:30 to 7:30pm starting in April, we will dive into a range of nonfiction, from the human history of corpse usage in Mary Roach's Stiff to the illustrated and intimate immigration story of Thi Bui's The Best We Could Do.

In April, let's learn what the cooks and chefs in restaurants are really yelling about. In Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly (2000), Anthony Bourdain exploded onto the culinary scene with this tell-all about what really happens in those high-end kitchens. Full of lurid details and intense, unpleasant, and hazardous scenes, characters, and lessons, Kitchen Confidential explores the often grotesque conditions tolerated in American restaurants.

Copies are available for you at Cooper-Siegel's Front Desk (or try an eBook for your Kindle or iPad)! The audiobook version is also available on Libby.

*May's meeting will fall on the 4th Wednesday, May 24.
