Join us for an educational evening where you'll learn more about Pine Ridge Reservation and the Oglala Lakota Sioux in South Dakota. John Connolly has been building a relationship with the Lakota Sioux for many years. He currently works with several high schools in the area creating permanent exhibits schools that use the artifacts as educational tools about Lakota traditions, values, history, and lifeways. John has worked for 30 years at Fort Pitt Museum in a variety of capacities, as well as in the Army Reserves here in Western PA for a number of years. He's taken over 50 trips to the Pine Ridge Reservation of the Oglala Lakota Sioux in South Dakota where he's built a lifetime of relationships and worked on a variety of projects - including running a summer art camp for Lakota Youth with 4 Lakota sisters/teachers who are connected to the larger story of the 100-year connection and artifacts though their grandfather.
