Enjoy an author talk with Tom Powers. Tom will discuss his newest book, The Allegheny Arsenal Handbook which chronicles 112 years of the Allegheny Arsenal, the “anchor store” of Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. This government facility served the nation through 5 wars and suffered a tragedy on September 17, 1862, that was the greatest single day loss of civilian life during the Civil War. Tom Powers and Jim Wudarczyk will present a PowerPoint lecture discussing their book that chronicles the history of the Allegheny Arsenal with stories, illustrations, maps, and photographs.
