The Art of Travel Closing Reception

Join photographer Stu Chandler for the closing reception of his exhibition, The Art of Travel. He'll be on hand to discuss his techniques and share the stories of his travel photos. All work is also for sale - purchases benefit the library.

Stu has been fortunate to travel the world, always with a camera in one hand, usually a cup of coffee in the other. In 2021, he closed the chapter on his career as an engineering manager for a major semiconductor manufacturer and is now free to explore the world through the eyes of an artist.

Photography is often expected to be a documentary representation of what the photographer saw.  As an artist, however, Stu seeks to create images with a sense of place, interest, moment, drama, beauty. Through the digital darkroom, he embraces the freedom to shape an image to realize the full potential of a scene, with no apologies.
