Parents have a lot on their plates these days. Finding time to read in a fulfilling and meaningful way during parenthood may seem near impossible. How can you find time to read? Find books that are right for you? Read in a way that supports your needs?

Tonight, we'll talk through some of the challenges of creating and sustaining a reading life in parenthood, and how doing so supports our wellbeing. Kathryn Barbash is a psychologist, a mother to four kiddos, and an avid reader herself. Expect a presentation that mixes psychological science, practical tips and clarifying prompts to help you design a unique reading life that fits your parenthood era. All types of parent readers welcome—whether you read 1 book or many last year, you are invited to take some time to reflect on your reading life with other parents.

Kathryn Barbash, PsyD is a clinical psychologist with a decade of experience working with families across school and medical settings. She has also held roles in training early career mental health professionals and behavioral health leadership. She is currently the at home parent for her four kids and writes, A Wonderful Mess, an online newsletter about navigating the mess of parenthood with humor, compassion, and common sense.
