The History of Pittsburgh Architecture

Pittsburgh is a veritable museum of American architecture, with outstanding examples of almost every building form and style found in our country from the late 18th century on. Together with the region's dramatic and varied topography, this architectural legacy has created a stunning setting for Pittsburgh's evolution from a frontier town to a major city. Tracy Myers, of Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation will share a fascinating lecture that will reveal how that history is revealed through our built environment. 

Tracy is an educator at Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation. She was a curator of architecture at Carnegie Museum of Art from 1997-2015 and she active as a member or leader of various South Side organizations for nearly two decades. She holds degrees in Government/Economics and Art/Architectural History. Before turning to the arts, she was a research assistant on Wall Street and a paralegal in a large NYC law firm. Although she has lived in Pittsburgh for 25 years, she feels she has barely scratched the surface or this endlessly intriguing region. She always looks forward to both sharing with and learning from people.
