The library is proud to participate in this year's Great Heinz Caper, presented by our friends at Roots of Faith!

For the past two years, the streets of Sharpsburg have been home to a live-action game of Clue. From an infamous art heist to a shocking murder. It's always the quiet ones...library manager Ms. Sara was arrested last year for the murder of Frankie (formerly of Frankie's Sausage). Now, a ghost has returned… and it wants justice.

This year, “The Great Heinz Caper: Ghosts on the Riverfront” takes the mystery to a whole new dimension — literally. Rumors swirl that the stolen Heinz painting and last year’s murder were part of a deeper secret buried along the Allegheny River — a secret powerful enough to disturb a restless spirit.

Join us for a thrilling mix of interactive theater, puzzles, geocaching, and local lore as you explore over a dozen Sharpsburg businesses and locations to uncover clues, decode ghostly messages, and solve the supernatural mystery haunting our town.

🔦 Choose your path:

  • High-tech hunters can use smartphones for geocached clues
  • Analog adventurers can solve puzzles with our printed Ghost Hunter’s Field Kit

Whether you're a seasoned sleuth or a first-time ghostbuster, this event is packed with local flavor, eerie fun, and mystery around every corner. Can you uncover the truth before the spirit world breaks loose?

All ages welcome. Costumes encouraged. Ghosts guaranteed.

This event is not organized by the library. The library is a community partner.
