Event Details
Twenty-one people died over Halloween weekend in 1948 in Donora, a small mill town in southwestern Pennsylvania. The event led directly to the nation's first clean air act. Join author Andy McPhee for a fascinating webinar exploring the Donora Death fog, the worst air pollution disaster in the US. Andy will discuss how and why it happened, who it happened to, and what the aftermath of this tragedy looked like.
You'll receive the Zoom link to participate in your registration confirmation email and again in a reminder email.
Andy McPhee is the author of Donora Death Fog: Clean Air and the Tragedy of a Pennsylvania Mill Town, published last year by the University of Pittsburgh Press. A former registered nurse and educational healthcare publisher, Andy has been writing someone's story since 1983. He comes to us this evening from his home in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
