Tome Raiders
Tired of the same old bestsellers? Craving books that surprise, challenge, and expand your mind? The Tome Raiders Book Club is your passport to the strange, fascinating, and overlooked corners of nonfiction. From the origin of medical discoveries to untold histories and mind-bending science, we hunt down and engage with the most intriguing reads.
Join us as we delve into the broad and weird world of nonfiction every 3rd Wednesday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, we dive into a nonfiction book, from the reclusive mountains of Idaho in Tara Westover's Educated to the sprawling historical true crime journey of The Wager by David Grann.
Imani Perry's Black in Blues uses the color blue as a perspective on Black America, following it through a journey from the indigo trade to the blues that intertwines deep sorrow with transcendent hope. This utterly original work moves beyond politics to explore a rich emotional and cultural spectrum, drawing from art, history, and the author's own life.
This event occurs after the library is closed so please park in the front lot and use the front doors—they will be locked but Cameron will be inside to let you in. There will be light refreshments available.
Copies will be available for you at Cooper-Siegel's Front Desk after January's meeting. There are audio and ebooks available on Libby and Hoopla!
